Real life Gatsby

Featured artist: Gatsby - Real life Gatsby

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Gatsby.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Gatsby: I first started out about a year ago during my freshman year in college. I would experiment with beats on my laptop and occasionally i'd let my friends hear them. Often times we would freestyle on them just for fun but sometimes the bars was actually crazy. I saw an opportunity.

Never doubt yourself. When i first started i was so nervous and scared of rejection or failure. I had the hardest time trying to figure out what was my unique sound. I did not want to sound like anyone else. I wanted to be completely different. I wanted to change the game with my music.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Since i just dropped my first actual track with vocals on it just months ago, i feel like i should hold off on shows until i really get my fanbase jumping and my confidence up.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

smoother than some butter like some am in my Doc Martins the sandles at the cookout hold the spatula handle i'm really grillin niggas.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently working on my debut mixtape ‟B.I.F.". It does not currently have a release date but i predict it'll be releasing no later than Aril of 2018.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I don't really know if i would. Me personally, i would sign to a major label just for the promotion and the resources but i also would be interested in seeing just how far i can make it in the game without a deal. I wanna build a strong foundation for myself so in the long run i can continue to expand and grow without having to worry about everything crashing down and burning because i didn't read everything in between the fine lines of a contract.

Any last words?

Shoutout to my brothers Tyriq, Calvin, Kevin, Killa Kota, LJ, Juiceman McClare, and the rest of the gang. Also wanna send a shoutout to all my sisters and my homegirls Caralea, Madelyn, Ania, Aleah, Aniya, and the rest of my lil ones. Last but definitely not least, Goddess.

Where can we contact you?
