Featured artist: Mantis Music Productions - Mantis Music Productions Is The New Music Of The Future

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Mantis Music Productions.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Mantis Music Productions: I have been writing lyrics since i was 13 years old and decided to make beats when i was 16. I began to make beats for myself and once i was really making dope beats for groups i was in and artists I was working with, I decided i wanted to be an artist and make music my life.

The best advice i got was from RZA when i went to his album signing for "Bobby Digital" I asked told him i made beats and one day i was going to work on a beat with him and the first thing he told me is "Always sharpen your craft and always maintain your brain because with out that? You will never get far in this game"

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I have been currently making beats instead actually writing but i will be performing live soon with my group called "The Trilogy" which consist of my brothers "Jay Conseption & John Figz"

Best punchline you ever wrote?

"They Doubted Me And Told Me I Wouldn't Amount To Nada, And Try To Break Me Down Diminishing My Persona, Bitches and Primadonnas wishing I'd Be a Goner, Niggas Sneak like Iguanas But Want to Greet Like They Honored"

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Me, Jay Conseption & John Figz released "Gorilla Warfare E.P" which i produced entirely in September and has been a great success and therefore we released two videos which were "Knights Templar" and our current most successful video "La Vida" We are currently working on our follow up to the E.P. which will be called "Deadly Combination" and already started recording and choosing what beats to be on it.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Honestly instead of signing a contract to a major record label i would rather have a distribution deal because now a days with all the platforms independent artists can use to their advantage, they see more money and royalties from sales rather than signing with a major label and only getting a certain cut or percentage from it. Another reason why i would rather do it independent is because YOU as the artist get to choose what songs you want and what beats to use rather then someone else telling you "Yes or No" Or "That's not commercial enough"

Any last words?

Huge Shout out to my peoples in Queens, Elmhurst, All our supporters who have been with us since day one, Undergroundhiphopblog, undergroundhiphopradio, solovibes, indierapblog, planaradio, thisis50, Rude Boy Lifestyle Magazine, Huffington Post, ZevoTV, Silent Knight, Jota C, A1Vision, Ceaze1, XStreets Cypher, Mr Ontime Films who shot our Video "La Vida" and especially my two brothers "Jay Conseption & John Figz" because with out them i would not be where i am today.
