Featured artist: Hippy Indie - Indie Rap Duo, this generation's Outkast.
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Hippy Indie.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Hippy Indie: (Kaivo Fuego) "Well music has always been huge part of me and my brothers life. I grew up listening to a variety of different artist and genres. Everything thing from Ice Cube to Nirvana. Me and Kidd met through a friend, we shared the same exact internet in almost everything, especially music. It's been magic ever since. "
The best advice that I have ever received is to never get hurt by someone else's opinion on my art. I always have to remind myself that not everyone will have the honor to be able to enjoy our music. Not everyone will like it, and that's okay.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
We're just starting to get a little buzz now. We a 3 songs out currently. We plan on playing live real soon. One of the main things we want to do tour !
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Flex like gymnastics
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
Currently we are working on our mixtape that'll be dropping sometime in the fall. We just released a single yesterday called Indya's interlude. it's doing pretty good. We're extremely proud.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends on the label and what they have to offer. I think alot of times artist lose their touch of creativity because they get signed to these record labels that take their freedom away. That's one thing we wouldn't date let happen.
Any last words?
Of course. Shout to everyone supporting us right now. Major shout to Kid Cudi and King Chip, those two Cleveland natives have been a huge influence on us. Shout out to bone thugs putting Cleveland on the map. Also shout out to Lebron, bring us home that ring fam.
