Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Sun7.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Sun7: By being told numerous times to stop beating on my desk.
Wrote my first rhyme in a jail cell.
Started making beats seriously in 2000.
Created my first 4-track demo ”Shock Value” in 2001.

Never neglect talent that God gave you.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I love rocking live…unless the DJ doesn’t know what real Hip-Hop is.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Who rocks the spot with the greatest of ease?/ni**as think they got the game locked, but I brought keys

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Right now I am working with the legendary Jay Quan on the Dynamic Range EP coming late 2015

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Too many labels are not compassionate to the dreams of their artsts. I have no tolerance for labels who exploit and cheat their artists. I do not wish to be affiliated with shady people…so that all depends on the label.

Any last words?

Appreciate your culture and its history. Know yourself. Never play for the crowd…play from your HEART.
Stop following trends, start following your instincts. Study Napoleon Hill’s ”Think and Grow Rich”. Fight oppression, respect your elders and help the weak. Become a good person, and stay that way. Learn and practice discipline and ALWAYS have an excellent moral standing, empathy and compassion.

Shout out to those who have been there and supported Exile Productions from day 1….especially my fans…too many names to list…but you know who you are, and you know who you aren’t. Either way, thank you!

Where can we contact you?

Thank you for your time. We wish you and your career the success it deserves.
