Featured artist: Fane Dacosta - Phanaddic in you’re face right now !

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Fane Dacosta.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Fane Dacosta: I would have to say I first started out as a fan and the love just grew from there, plus my friends in Miami that I grew up with was in the business at the time, most people know them as the group the ICONZ whom had that big smash Get Crunked Up a few years back. So being around them kind of gave me the motivation like ”yeah I can do this” and once I started as a teenager I never looked back.

whatever you do be an originator not an imitator or a perpetrator.

- Fane Dacosta

What about concerts? Do you play live?

iI used to do some live gigs here in daytona beach but I have been battling the federal government the last couple of years so it has interrupted my flow a lot, plus I have to report to prison for a little over a year starting next month June 13th 2014 so I won’t be able to start doing anything full fledged that I want to until I come back out.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Go hard or go the F*** home!
- Fane Dacosta

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I just released the Term Anthem video and song which followed another video and song released entitled On Her Own which are both on YouTube under Phanaddic, have a couple other tricks up my sleeve but will have to wait until after i come back from prison which is a birch because I am in such a flow right now but God knows best so l have to just trust in that you know

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would if the deal was right but for over ten years now I have been grooming my own Indie studio and record label and I love the freedom that comes with it so I mainly just focused on a distribution deal, what is a major comes with the right figures and the right deal I don’t see you where I would object, it has to be beneficial for both of us not just them,. the cons to a major like I earlier stated is creativity and freedom of expression of one’s self, it’s sort of like a chain gang mentality to me. the pros to a major label obviously is exposure and access to a vast and humungus marketing network and PR agencies which can shoot you in the public eye about 10 times faster than you would on your own.

Any last words?

Would love to first and foremost thank God because without him none ofanything is possible. Would love to Big Up my island of Jamaica ”just cool no man”, the Dirty Dirty Souf, big up to Florida & Daytona Beach where I reside, Nuff Big up’s and shoutouts to the UK, Canada, over in Asia and everyone else all around the rest of the world. last but not least major Big Ups to everyone that supported me, and continue to show their unconditional love and support. And major Big up’s and Nuff Respek to Rapbeats.Net UG for this Bad Ass Interview Seen! Nuff Irie, Cool Runnins and Bless Up!
